Lissa A. Boileau, MSN, PMHNP-BC
I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing care to adults across New York. My path into psychiatry is grounded in over 18 years of nursing experience, beginning in high-acuity settings including trauma and intensive care, where I developed a deep understanding of how the body and mind respond to stress, crisis, and healing.
At one point in my career, I stepped away from traditional clinical work to deepen my understanding of patterns, relationships, and emotional functioning. During that time, I facilitated workshops and retreats focused on personal growth and behavioral change—an experience that continues to shape how I approach care today.
Over time, my work naturally evolved into behavioral health, where I’ve held leadership roles across detox, residential treatment, and outpatient psychiatry. Through this, I developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, addiction recovery, and working with complex, layered presentations—not just managing symptoms, but understanding the patterns beneath them.
I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy. My approach is collaborative and thoughtful—I take the time to understand your story, how your experiences have shaped you, and what may be getting in the way of where you want to go. I tend to notice patterns and layers that aren’t always obvious at first, which helps guide more meaningful and effective treatment. While medication can be an important tool, my work goes beyond that, helping you gain insight, build self-awareness, and create lasting, meaningful change.
My goal is to create a space where you feel deeply seen, understood, and supported enough to do the work that leads to real transformation.
